Description
The second revised edition of the publication “Topographical Maps of Cyprus” is available on size 30x22cm and contains 104 detailed topographical maps of the Troodos Mountains and Akamas Peninsula at the scale of 1/25,000. Each map covers 5×7 square kilometers.
The maps are separated into 12 distinct regions of the island of Cyprus covering the areas of Akamas Peninsula, Polis – Pafos forest, Ezousa Valley, Pafos Forest, the Wine Growing region (Krasochoria), Troodos forest, Pitsilia Region, Machairas Forest, Stavrovouni Forest, the Hilly region west of Larnaka, Xeros and Diarizos Valleys and Tilliria region.
The booklet contains a detailed Key to Maps with explanation of all symbols used such as contours, height spots, road network classified in categories including tracks, Trails including the European trail E4, geological landforms, forests and vegetation, quarries, settlements, medieval bridges, churches and mosques, watermills, wineries etc.
It also includes a very detailed Useful information section which describes in detail all the mapped areas, picnic sites, Nature Trails and Hiking Safety, Wineries, the Religious Heritage (Monasteries and UNESCO Painted Churches), Medieval Bridges, Watermills, Olive mills, monuments of nature, Waterfalls, unique geological landforms, etc.
The maps are based on the UTM grid and WGS84 and are compatible with GPS.
