SELAS has undertaken the mapping of agro touristic villages in Cyprus in an effort to promote the experience of this holidaymaking.

The aim is to promote the unique sites of interest within each village such as archaeological sites, religious and cultural places, nature trails and of course all the agro touristic facilities within the villages.

Printed Maps are now available for Kalopanagiotis, the well-known agro touristic village of Cyprus and visitors can have all the information concerning the village such as the unique UNESCO churches and monastery, medieval bridges, sites of historical interest, the agro touristic units within the village etc.

Following the presidential elections of 2018, SELAS undertook the mapping of the results of the 1st and 2nd Round of the Elections. The Maps of the elections enable the geographical distribution of the results and are an essential tool for the analysis and visualization of the data.

The Guide was created within the framework of the “Agia Napa-Rethymno: Universally Accessible Cities”, in the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Program “Greece-Cyprus 2007-2013”.

The Guide presents accessible tourist destinations and venues within the two municipalities, Agia Napa and Rethymno, that were deemed friendly and appropriate for disabled visitors and includes information on the most important monuments and sights of interest, accommodation, proposed walks and their accessibility to different types of disabilities.

SELAS has undertaken the mapping of Agia Napa and the collection of points of interest (accommodation, petrol stations, restaurants etc.) depicted on the maps as well as the publishing of the Guide.

SELAS undertook the mapping of Kalopanagiotis village, which included the road network, street names and points of interest within the area and the production of digital and printed Maps of the Community.

The collection of data included all the historic and cultural sites, the churches, agrotourism units and other accommodation within the settlement, nature trails and lots of useful information concerning the Community.

Through an innovative European project, which was funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the Ministry of Interior and the Community Board of Stroumpi, SELAS undertook the mapping of the Cultural Routes within Stroumpi Community.

The project included the design and mapping of four cultural routes within Stroumpi village in Pafos, the geographical and historical study of Stroumpi area and the editing of a travel guide and cultural maps.

Furthermore, the project included the production of paper, digital and interactive maps for the Information kiosk screens as well as map boards at the starting points of each cultural route and along the sites of interest. The thematic maps depict the special designed routes, points of interest along the route, various amenities along the trails as well as time and distance of walking trails.

The main purpose of this project was to enhance the cultural, historical and religious wealth of the region with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the Cypriot tourism, the development of alternative forms of tourism such as cultural tourism, the diffusion flow of tourists to the mainland, the lengthening of the touristic period and the offer of new tourism products.
